annoyances

Uggh, it's been a long week. I felt so out of step yesterday at work, just like I was a bit sluggish and making little mistakes or just moving too slowly and miscommunicating with everyone. I don't think it's anything to do with me still being a bit new and making newbie mistakes, I think it was just me having an off-day, but still, it frustrated me. I'd try to shake it off and get back into rhythm, and then something else would happen. Hopefully today will be a better day, and then at least I have a much easier week this week, just working again on Thurs. and Sun. and have the rest of the week off.

Also, while I was at work yesterday, Adam had a visit from the building manager, and apparently our shower is leaking down into the flat below us. So they're sending a plumber out this week, but they're talking about just replacing the whole shower/bathtub, and that certainly doesn't sound like something they can do all in one day. So there's a possibility we could be temporarily displaced while our bathroom is being redone, which would be an inconvenience to have to leave our flat in the meantime. Although the end result would be a brand new shower/bathtub that's not on our dime since we don't own the flat, which would be nice once it's all done. But I guess we'll see what they want to do, maybe it'll be a quicker and easier fix.

Then there's my crappy phone, which keeps crashing when I try to do simple things like check my voicemail. The screen blanks out, and won't come back on no matter what buttons I push or try to turn the phone off, and I end up having to open it up and take out the battery just to get it to stop what it's doing and reset it. Stupid thing. I thought a new phone with a contract would be expensive, but when Adam told me what he's paying each month for his HTC phone, it was a lot less than I thought, and when we looked online he found a plan that's only slightly more than that each month for a new HTC Desire S, and the phone would be free with a two-year contract. I didn't get approved from the credit check though, just because I haven't established any credit for myself here yet, but Adam's going to try to get it for me in his name, so hopefully I'll still get it anyways. It would be nice to have a sweet new phone, and one that I could use the 3G internet on when I'm not in a WiFi spot, without running through all of my money on a pay-as-you-go plan as I would with the phone I have now.

Anyways, here it is Monday, the start of a new week, and also a day that feels more like Friday for me, since I've worked for five days and have the next two days off. So hopefully today will be the start of a new and better week, and I can also look forward to a day off tomorrow with Adam as well :)
